A Mother's Love

A Mother’s Love program is a Plan of Safe Care which was federally mandated by child abuse

prevention and treatment act (CAPTA) & Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA).

A plan of safe care is designed to improve safety and wellbeing of infants affected by prenatal

substance exposure and improved outcomes of their caregivers. A Mother’s Love provides

case management, treatment coordination, community resources, and emotional support to

women that are pregnant or have given birth within a year who struggling with substance use.

They offer private home and office lactation consultations, breastfeeding support, weight checks, newborn, prenatal breastfeeding and back to work/school classes, infant scale and pump rentals, business consultations, and host a monthly breastfeeding support group.

Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies

 Over the past forty years, HMHBGA has worked to improve access to prenatal and preventive healthcare for thousands of women, children and families in Georgia through direct service, collaborative advocacy and community education.

Perinatal & Post Partum

Perinatal & Post Partum

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) offers the Perinatal Health Partnership (PHP) program, which provides home visits for pregnant women and new mothers. The PHP program also offers care coordination and case management. Perinatal Health Partnership (PHP) 

  • Offers home visits for pregnant women and new mothers
  • Provides care coordination and case management
  • Offers education for high-risk pregnant women and their families
  • Offers linkages to needed resources
  • Screens for pregnancy and postpartum warning signs and symptoms

  • The PHP is open Monday to Friday, 8 AM–5 PM

Other postpartum care resources:

  • Call 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262) for free confidential support for pregnant and new moms 
  • Call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988 for free and confidential support 
  • Call your local health department for more information about scheduling a home visit 
  • Call your maternal care provider if you have questions about your health after delivery
